To install TykeAI without a computer :
We don’t even need a 3rd party app, or be messing around with “dev mode” etc, to install non-Meta Store apps like TykeAI now, please do what’s shown in this 3 minute video :
It’s 5 easy steps :
1. Join the TykeAI Patreon, paid tier : https://www.patreon.com/TykeAI/membership
2. Using the Meta browser, open the TykeAI Patreon main page https://www.patreon.com/TykeAI open the pinned post titled “Download The Apps From Here”, open the Google Drive link embedded in the post.
3. Download the app file (the “APK”) for the TykeAI app you want to install. Once the download has finished, click on the little pop-up box that appears, OR open up the in-built Meta file manager app, called “Files”, from your apps (everyone has “Files” installed, it’s a Meta app)
4. Find the APK file you just downloaded, click on the 3 little dots, then click on Package Manager
5. Click on Install or Update
….and that’s it!
After installing the app, it can be started from your Quest’s “Unknown Sources” folder.
Go the main app screen (press the Meta button on the right hand controller) and select the “Menu” icon on the left which is the ,second icon down (3 little lines with dots), then select “Unknown Sources”, then you will see a list any non-Meta Store apps you’ve installed, the TykeAI apps will be there, just click on 1 to start it.
Then login with the login info I sent to you on the Patreon (your email address and password I sent you in a private Patreon message).
There are at the moment 5 TykeAI apps, they all have the same functionality, they only differ in the avatars they contain. The best one’s are the TykeAI Suki and TykeAI Nova apps as these are the most recent, Mervin the alien is also great fun and is in the main TykeAI app.
Install each app in turn and install them in any order. When an updated app version is available, just install it in exactly the same way, install it over the top of your existing TykeAI app install, in fact it’s better if you don’t uninstall first.
